When I joined Flybridge back in June (wow, time flies!) one of the first things we discussed, as a partnership, was how to have a larger impact on the companies we’ve backed while also being a bigger supporter of the overall New York early stage ecosystem. Between Chip, David, Jeff and me we’ve supported and worked with hundreds of startups over the years and we’ve learned, especially in the earliest days, is that all founders need a little mentorship and a community to be a part of when the highs are highest and when the lows are lowest. We knew we needed to work hard to continue to foster that support network here in New York City.

That’s why I’m very excited to announce that we’ve added Kendall Sherman as our first Community Manager here in the Big Apple! She’s been with us for a whole three weeks and I can’t imagine growing our fund without her. Kendall has already made the office an amazing place to work at every day (thanks for turning up the tunes, filling the bar and having a positive attitude) and is bursting with ideas. She has jumped in to help Kate, our VP of Marketing, put together our annual LP event and our upcoming CEO/founder unsummit in Boston. Next up, Kendall is kicking off our Flybridge dinner series, working with friends at other seed funds on cool events, launching our Flybridge Medium publication and lining up office hours so we can connect with and help even more awesome founders.

Prior to Flybridge, I got to work with Kendall at WeWork, where she joined the New Member Development team two years ago. More recently, she became a Digital Product Specialist supporting over 70,000 members around the globe. Before WeWork, Kendall was at Yelp in New York City. She has spent her time working with, in and for startups for much of her career and will no doubt provide a ton of support to our growing portfolio and to the community at large.

Please join me in welcoming Kendall to the Flybridge team. If you’d like to say “hi,” you can reach Kendall at ks@flybridge.com or on Twitter at @thatgirlkens. You can also read a bit more about her on her official Flybridge page.
